Members meet in an informal atmosphere to exchange ideas on horology, and they are invited to contribute to meetings in formal or informal talks.
Membership is diverse and includes people from a wide range of professions, including professional horologists and serious collectors. Interests range from modern to early clocks and watches, turret clocks and barometers.
The Society holds three meetings each year (spring, summer and autumn) with an occasional summer outing, designed for the whole family to enjoy.
The optional summer field trip is usually held at the end of July or beginning of August. Meetings are an all-day event, generally with at least two to three guest speakers, and sometimes with luncheon included. Three venues are traditionally used each year; the St Fagans National Museum of History in the spring; the Summer meeting is at the Cardiff Model Engineering Society; and the autumn meeting at the Old Town Hall at Grosmont.
AHS members are welcome to attend the meetings of the Wales and Marches Horological Society.
